    Description

    This daguerreotype features an African American nanny holding a baby. She wore a plaid head wrap and looked down at the squirming baby who pulled on her unusual patterned shirt. Her hands and face were quite weathered.
    The 1/6 plate was resealed with new glass (not by me) and the original worn leather half case measures about 3.25 x 3.75 inches.
