Description
A rare and exceptional early 19th
century sterling silver teapot with John (Charles) Angell II & George Angell’s of London maker’s mark. Along with this mark is the sovereign mark, London mark, date mark (1838) plus the number 30 on the underside of the base. There is no monogram. The teapot is 11” tall at the finial, 9” wide from outer handle to outer spout and weighs 1 lb. 14 oz. No dents, buff marks are consistent with age, and I have only done a preliminary cleaning with a high-end polish for presentation purposes. Truly a distinguished example of fine, English silversmithing that will emphasize any antique tea service collection.
