Description

Antique American Arts Crafts Sterling Silver Art Shop Handwrought Chicago Teapot
Presented is a lovely antique American sterling silver teapot, dating to circa
1912-1920. The teapot is by the Art Silver Shop, an American Arts & Crafts
movement silver company operating in Chicago c1912-1930s. True to the style of
the Arts & Crafts movement, the pot is handwrought with an appealing hand
hammered finish subtly visible in the surface. The pot is overall simple in
design but elegant, with a decorative design around the body almost like
stylized petals. Please note, we have for sale a matching tray by the same maker
and in the same pattern, which you can find by searching 'Art Silver Shop' in
our storefront.
This piece is in excellent condition. The interior of the pot is spotlessly
clean and looks unused. There are no splits, no leaks, no dents, no breaks, no
monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The pot is stamped sterling on the underside as well as the maker's mark for
the Art Silver Shop in Chicago and 'Hand Made.'
The teapot stands about 9 1/2 inches tall and measures about 11 inches from
the back of the handle to the tip of the spout. The pot has a capacity of about
5 cups, or 40 fluid ounces/1.18 liters.
The teapot weighs 718 grams or 25.3 regular ounces.
