Antique American Sterling Tea and Coffee Set, S Kirk & Son Co. Baltimore, c 1896

Description

This set was discovered badly tarnished. It cleaned up very nicely except for the top of the teapot. Wright’s silver cream is not up to the task, so I think a jeweler or (preferably) a silversmith should buff it out. I would not attempt this myself. I’d just leave it alone.
The 404 gram waste bowl is 6 inches diameter and stands 3 3/8 inches tall. You could use this as an open sugar bowl too.
The coffee pot is stunning and in excellent condition. It measures 9.5 inches tall at the handle and weighs 1,181 grams. The heat stops are replacements and the handle is secure.
The cute squat teapot weighs 986 grams and is 6 5/8 inches tall at the handle. The body of the pot itself is 3.75 inches tall. It has original heat stops and the handle wobbles. Please examine pictures closely because as this is the only piece with any significant damage.
The model number on all these pieces is 3600.
