This is an antique Chinese ink cake box used by scholars and students to store calligraphy ink. It is made from a base layer of copper with paktong ("white copper") and brass for a wonderful multi colored effect given when etched

The ink box is about 2 5/8" in diameter by 3.4" tall (6.5 x 2 cm).
Having been carefully displayed and in storage for many decades years, with just a bit of wear on the finish, it remains in
very good
condition.
