Antique Chinese Porcelain Cricket Box with Lid

Description

This is a vividly decorated Antique Chinese Porcelain Cricket Box with an iron red foo dog painted on a stark white ground. The lid is nicely decorated in a stylized swirl pattern surrounding a flower in a center medallion.  The gilt highlights has been worn away in most areas. The box dates to the late 19th to early 20th century.
There are definite signs of age and use, including staining to the inside of the box, but no damage.
The box measures 4.25" x 2.75" x 2"
