Antique Chinese Red Lacquer Lidded Hat Box - Large

Description

Late 19th Century hand painted Chinese lacquer bamboo box with fitted lid . Time worn decoration features flowers and leaves in black. Originally created to store hats - it is perfectly sized to store whatever treasure out of sight. Measures 13.25" diameter x 12" high. In very good antique condition. Paint/Lacquer has various marks and "dings" commensurate with antique age and years of use. Overall structurally sound and quite sturdy. Lid interior features a Chinese import wax stamp.
