Antique French Sterling Silver Minerva Teapot Eagle Head Beak C.Forgelot 20th C

Superb Empire style solid silver jug, the grip formed of a swan with outstretched wings, delicately located on a terrace of water leaves.
The lid, body, base and even the ring enclosing the socket are punctuated by delicate friezes of water leaves and pearls. The body is decorated with a frieze of swans with outstretched wings, garlands of laurels and flowers, finely chiselled.
The beak is shaped like an eagle's head.

Minerva 1st title.
Master goldsmith: CF and a portable forge for Charles FORGELOT, active between 1901 and 1928.
