    Description

Antique Irish Georgian Sterling Silver Tea Set Dublin 1813
Antique Irish Georgian Sterling Silver Tea Set Dublin 1813
A fine antique 3 piece sterling silver tea service.   The teapot, made in Dublin, 1813, with a makers mark, W/D. The creamer and sugar bowl were made to match in London, 1906, by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd.   The set is late Georgian style,  elegant, and restrained, with engraved detailing.  The set weighs a total of approx. 49.48 ounces.  The teapot is 7 1/2" high by 12" wide (handle to spout) and 6" deep. The sugar bowl is 4" high (to the top of the bowl part) by 8 1/2" wide (handle to handle) by 4 1/2" deep. The creamer is 4" high by 3 1/2" deep by 6" wide, including the handle. All in excellent condition. Guaranteed to be as described.
(Note: Irish silver is relatively rare as there were far fewer silversmiths in Ireland at the time, and very far fewer people of the upper classes who could afford such luxuries.)
