Description
A wonderful 19th century Indian Colonial sterling silver 3 piece tea set. According to the site "Indian Silver during the Raj", this pattern was made in Madras, probably in the late 1890's. I recommend you check out that site if you have the chance. It is written by Haresh Patel and Veronica McDavid, and it provides a wealth of great information. This set is accented with images of Hindu deities, and the teapot has an elephant trunk spout. The teapot is 4.5" high, the lidded sugar is 4" high, and the lidded creamer is 3.5" high. The total silver weight is 22.8 troy ounces. Like much Indian Colonial sterling, it is unmarked.
Condition: good with just a bit of tarnish here and there and some very slight dents on the bottoms of each piece, hard to see.
Thanks for looking at this beautiful set!
