Antique Silk Embroidered Yomud Tribe Turkman Hat.
Central Asia, circa 1920’s. Four bird cross motif repeating in white and red with a spiral effect. Rare Find!! Extraordinary example of Turkoman embroidery.
There are six colors of silk used, cotton and linen. Masterfully crafted with silk threads on linen backing. Colors are cream, red, black, brown ( edging on top, slightly noticeable ), green backing and pink small detail on mid section, small band. Purchased while traveling 1990’s and stored since. Pictures show each and every angle for you, no damage, slight fraying of fine silk threads. Not uncommon for its age.
