P.L. KRIDER COIN SILVER COFFEE POT 1850Stunning and elegant coin silver coffee pot in the classical manner, C 1850s
Peter L. Krider was a very well known Philadelphia silversmith, initially apprenticed to John Curry and later, in 1850, he opened his own firm, Krider & Co, which was open from 1850-1859. In 1860 he joined forces with John Biddle, whose name is also very familiar and well known.
His work is displayed in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, major
major museums across the country.
This piece made in the 1850s
by maker PL Krider is 11 inches tall and 10 1/2 inches handle to spout. It weighs just a bit over 36 standard ounces.
It is Hallmarked for the 1850s as shown and the piece is in truly excellent condition, retaining original detail and rich sterling patina throughout.
Stands flat and straight on a table.
There are no condition issues and no repairs or damage. Very light and slight surface wear from polishing and age.
