    Here is a fine, rare Egg-Form 3 piece Demi Tea Set Made by Frank W. Smith, Gardner Massachusetts, circa 1890’s.This lovely set has great openwork feet, and nice floral repousse’ decorations.
    The Tea Pot is marked: 3065 STERLING 3/4 PINT along with a Frank Smith Lion on a Crescent Hallmark. The Creamer and Covered Sugar Bowl are each marked 3065 STERLING with the Frank Smith Lion on a Cresent Hallmark.
    The Tea Pot measures 6 1/2 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches across at the spout & handle. It weighs 9.8 ounces
    The Covered Sugar measures 4 3/4 inches tall by 5 inches across at the handles. It weighs 6 ounces
    The Creamer measures 3 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches across at the spout & handle. It weighs 3.6 ounces.

    Frank W. Smith was trained as a silversmith by his uncle, William Durgin, and opened his own shop in 1886, making sterling silver flatware. His business grew rapidly, and the factory was completed in 1892. Smith hired Arthur J. Stone, a Scottish silversmith, as a lead designer and supervisor, and also began producing handcrafted products.
