Description
DescriptionArt Deco French sterling silver tea and coffee set, ca. 1920-1930. This set comprises of 4 pieces: 42 oz coffee pot, 48 oz teapot, creamer jug, and lidded sugar bowl. Each piece with a flared bulbous shaped form enhanced with paneling on the sides. Curved wood handles and circular finials. The sugar bowl and creamer with gilt vermeil interiors. Fully hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark. In use from 1838, the mark indicates a silver content of .950/1000 (95% silver and a higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Bearing a silversmith's mark and retailer's mark. In overall good condition with general wear/surface scratches commensurate with age and use. Beautiful clean interiors.
Coffee pot: 7 1/2" height x 7" width spout to handle. Weighs 637.4 grams. Holds 42 oz capacity.
Teapot: 6 3/8" height x 7 1/2" width from spout to handle. Weighs 671 grams. Holds 48 oz capacity.
Sugar Bowl: 5 3/4" width across the handles x 4 3/8" height. Weighs 415.9 grams
Creamer: 3 3/4" height x 4 1/8" width from spout to handle. Weighs 226.8 grams
