    Description

Charles Reily & George Storer, London silver tea service
This exceptionally detailed Victorian silver tea set consists of a matching teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug and is an original set dated 1846. The early Victorian repousse work of acanthus leaves and floral motifs is repeated on each piece. They each stand on four highly decorated cast feet and are gold gilt lined. Each piece is adorned with a beautifully engraved wolf motif.
The teapot has a fluted and acanthus leaved spout and handle. The handle is silver with bone insulators. The hinged top has a silver finial of a bouquet of flowers set on leaves. The milk jug has one and the sugar bowl two handles with fluted and acanthus leaved decoration.
Made by the very highly regarded firm of Charles Reily and George Storer who registered their first mark in 1829 through to 1850. This is a superb example of their high quality work and would be a pleasure to place on the table.
The total weight of the set is 1445 grams.
The condition of this set is very good, sits well, great detail, no dents.
The base of each piece is clearly marked with matching hallmarks for sterling silver, London, the duty mark of Queen Victoria's head and the makers mark of CRGS, Charles Reily and George Storer, also one of the leafs on the pot lid is hallmarked as seen in the images.
