This is an excellent Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Adlake Kero switchman's lantern. Outstanding condition for its age! Manufacture date of 4/1951 is clearly visible on the bottom of the lantern. Lots of good clean original tin/metal. This lantern led a very easy life! "C&O" is cast into the top of the chimney dome. It has a correct Adlake fount and burner. The globe is a very nice clear cast Corning globe with the Corning "CNX" logo cast into it. "C&O" is etched prominently on the globe as well. The globe has no cracks; only some flea bites on the rims where it meets the lantern body. Lid opens and closes properly. Definitely a piece you will be proud to add to a collection!
