CHINESE CLOISONNE TOBACCO JAR FLOWERS TRINKET BOX

Description

This is a nice looking older  Chinese Cloisonne Tobacco Jar which stands 3” tall , the lid measures with
3” in diameter. Depth measures a tiny bit more than 2 5/8”.
The background is a repetitive
brass diaper “T” pattern,
and half circle top/bottom (cloisons) with stylized floral(flowers) design. Inside and bottom is one sold
blue/teal enamel color.
The enamel colors include shades of blue, cinnabar, green, pink, white, and
yellow. All done on a teal enamel ground.
You will find oxidation to the metal, pitting, surface scratches, discoloration of the enamel, and old dust/dirt. There is also one area in the side wall of the cover/lid and one inside the cover/lid where the enamel cooled to fast causing the enamel to crack, however, the areas are still intact, not loose. The inside of the has an enamel drip. Base metal rim is a bit out of round. Cover/lid fits tight.
