    Description

    This colorful Early Republic period engraved brass cigarette box features a multicolored enamel lid with a central scene of a female musician standing in a wooded garden .  Around this scene is a lovely border of entwined flowers and vines.  The sides of the brass box are wonderfully hand engraved with lotus blossoms, leaves and vines.  The base of the box is marked "MADE IN CHINA".  It is 6.25" long x 5" wide x 1.25" tall.  I believe it dates to about 1920. It is in very nice condition with jus a tiny bit of enamel loss at the corners.
