Offered is a vintage piece of
American Railroad History

a Dietz Vulcan Extended Base Lantern Globe.
The lantern globe is an extended base, standard tall globe, and is cast “DIETZ-VULCAN-NEW YORK-USA” and has the “CNX” Corning Glass logo.
In their catalog this is also listed as a “No. 39” and to quote Dietz “DIETZ GLOBES – Are Extra Quality.” The Lantern Globe is in good condition, free of scratches, cloudiness, and cracks. There is an approximate 5/8-inch-wide piece missing from the extended base (see photos), likely won’t show in an extended base frame, may show if there is a bottom globe seat. There may be the usual small rim nicks from use on the railroad which will not show when the globe is seated in a lantern frame. This globe will fit most tall globe lantern frames such as Adlake, Dietz, Armspear, Handlan, Dressel, etc. Shipping will be .00 for UPS Insured Ground, well packed to insure safe shipment.
