    Description

Exquisite Finely Etched 5 piece Coffee and Tea Service made by WM. B. Durgin Co.(1853-1931) Providence, R.I. and sold by Jas. R. Armiger.
The set consists of a Coffee Pot measuring 10” by 7.5” and weighing 616 grams, a Teapot measuring 10.5” by 5” and weighs 512 grams. A Sugar Bowl with lid measuring 7.5” by 3.5” weighing 330 grams, along with a cream pitcher measuring 6.5” by 3.25” weighs 198 grams. In addition, a waste bowl measures 5.5” by 3.5” and weighs 230 grams.
All bear an intricate script monogram which I believe to be LHW.
The set measures a total of 1886 grams. In remarkable condition for its age. The workmanship is superb.
There are a few condition issues commensurate with age.
The waste bowl has a small dent on the rim. All the finials on the coffee pot ( very very slight) sugar bowl (slight) and teapot ( the most)are bent...some very slightly and some more so, but are intact. The handles on the pots are just ever so slightly loose and the coffee pot lid doesn’t close tightly.
I am nitpicking here, but would prefer to over criticize than have someone disappointed.
This is one of the most elegant sets that I have ever seen.
