Elegant Tiffany and Co Sterling Silver 1890s 3pc Tea Set
Presented is an elegant sterling silver tea set from Tiffany and Co. made in the 1890s. The set contains the tea pot, sugar bowl and creamer. All pieces are monogrammed with ACW in script. The tea pot handle has insulators to keep the silver handle from getting too hot. All pieces have a gilded gold wash interior, a fancy beaded rim, and beautifully cast legs.
Each piece of the set is marked sterling and with the Tiffany & Co maker's mark, as well as the initial for the company director between 1892-1902, Charles L. Tiffany. While the teapot's capacity is marked as 1 pint or 3 cups, when filled, we found it realistically holds about 12 fluid ounces. The sugar bowl capacity is marked as 2 1/2 gills (10 fluid ounces). The creamer's capacity is marked as 1 gill (4 fluid ounces).
The condition is great. There is minor surface wear and a few small dings on the back side of the teapot. The interior gold wash is still vibrant and all the detail is crisp. There are no breaks and no repairs.
Measurements: The teapot stands 5 1/2 inches tall. The sugar bowl and creamer stand 3 1/2 inches.
