Presented is a wonderful Mueck Carey sterling silver three piece tea set. This set dates to around the 1950s. This set is done in a beautiful Modernist style, very similar to the work of Modernist silversmiths like Georg Jensen and Alphonse La Paglia. The set features sleek, high finish bodies with a band of floral openwork between the body and the foot, with further floral decoration on the handles of the sugar and creamer and on the finial of the pot's lid. The floral designs are done in an attractive style, combining both detailed naturalistic and stylized sinuous elements. These pieces are spotlessly clean inside and out, ready for use or display.
The set consists of:
Teapot: 9 1/2 inches tall. Capacity of 5 cups (40 fluid ounces/1.18 liters)
Sugar bowl: 4 1/2 from handle to handle, stands 2 5/8 inches tall.
Creamer: 3 3/8 inches tall.
Each piece is stamped on the underside with the maker's mark for Mueck Carey Co as well as sterling and the number 1116.
This set is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
