Description
Festival Hall was the crowning feature of the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, MO. The detailed image is amazingly contained on the bowl of this small spoon. It was called "The Grand Basin from the Cascade Garden." The basin allowed 45,000 gallons of water per minute to flow into the Grand Basin. The Fair, which lasted 7 months, drew 19 million visitors from all over the world to St. Louis. The stem of the handle is the stalk of the state flower, the white hawthorn, which blooms atop the handle, and is seen in relief on the back of the spoon.
