Handsome Vintage Towle Sterling Silver 3 pc. Tea Set
Presented is a handsome sterling silver 3 piece tea set made by Towle Silversmiths. The set has a creamer and sugar bowl, and a tall elegant coffee or teapot. The pot has a simple smooth finish design with threaded decoration around the base and the rim. The creamer and sugar bowl have a matching threaded border around the rim. Each piece is monogrammed with the initials PS in an elegant script.
Each piece is marked on the underside with the maker’s mark for Towle and Sterling for sterling silver. The teapot is marked with the capacity of 2 1/2 Pints.
The condition is excellent. The teapot has a dent to the base as shown. The teapot also has a small row of dings to the side of the body, where it bumped up against something when set down. These are not very visible. These can be seen in the second photo as the light speckling on the teapot's body at the 2 inch hash mark. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. There are no other dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The creamer measures 5 1/4 inches from handle to spout and 2 1/4 inches tall.
The sugar bowl measures 3 1/8 inches in diameter at the rim, 5 7/8 inches wide across the handles, and 2 1/4 inches tall.
The pot measures 5 3/4 inches wide from handle to spout and 8 3/4 inches tall.
The combined weight of the set is 657.7 grams or 23.2 ounces.
