Illinois Central Railroad Handlan Switchman's Lantern-Cast Clear Globe

Description

This is an Illinois Central Railroad Handlan switchman's lantern. As you will see in one of the photos, it has patent dates of 1909, 1910, and 1912 on the bottom. Outstanding condition for its age! Lots of good clean original tin/metal. This lantern led a very easy life! It has its original brass burner, and original removable fount. "I.C.R.R" is cast into the top rim of the lantern. The globe is a very nice clear Corning CNX globe, with the "CNX" logo cast in it, as well as "I.C.R.R." cast into it. Lid opens and closes properly. A super-rare item that certainly will be a highlight of an Illinois Central or lantern collection!
