INCREDIBLE 1864 ELKINGTON & Co STERLING SILVER CROWN ARMORIAL REPOUSSE 4PC TEA & COFFEE SET
This is a super high quality early Victorian Period Sterling Silver 4pc Tea and Coffee Service by one of the most important English Silversmiths of the time, Elkington & Co.  The Service is one of the finest quality sets we have sold in a long time with incredibly ornate Hand Chased Repousse designs throughout plus fine fruit form finials and Crowned Stag Figural Armorials from the original owners. This Armorial is well worth looking into, most often the Crown was used by branches of the Royal Family and this may have belonged to someone of great importance. The Service consists of a Coffee Pot, Teapot, Cream or Milk Pitcher Jug and a Lidded Sugar Basin Bowl.  All the pieces have matching Hallmarks for Elkington & Co, Birmingham England, Sterling Silver and the Date Letter "P" for 1864

: The Coffee Pot measures approx 7-3/4 inches tall by 7 inches long, the Teapot measures approx 7 inches tall by 9 inches long, the Milk Pitcher measures approx 5-1/4 inches tall at the spout and the Sugar Bowl measures 7 inches wide across the handles.  The Set has a quality 925 Sterling Silver weight of 2535 grams.
