Large Circular Porcelain Chinese Box With Lid 10.5” Famille Rose Qianlong Stamp. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This large circular Chinese porcelain box and cover is stunning! It is decorated on the yellow ground and in Famille rose with gilt Shou characters, lotus flowers, Buddhist emblems, and formal scrolling all in the 18th century style. On the base, it is stamped with what I believe is the mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). These round boxes were sometimes called soft hat boxes.
This lovely box measures about 10.5” across and stands about 6.5” tall. It is heavy duty and weighs about 8 pounds. It is in very good condition - there are a couple spots where the color has started to rub off, but that’s about it for flaws! Please see the photos!
