Antique London 1764 Hallmarked Sterling silver George III period Coffee Pot by William and John Dean.Registered 1759 as shown in Grimwade p.520.Pyriform with an acorn finial and fruit wood scroll handle.No mono or engraving. Clear English hallmarks for London 1764 struck on bottom. The makers mark for William and John Deane is in the center of the bottom and so is slightly distorted by being on the center punch. It is more clearly visible on the interior of the lid, along with another lion passant.
Measures: approx 11 inches high x 8 1/2 inches from handle to spout tip .Weight: 961 grams 30.89 Troy Oz. Antique item. Hammer marks from the maker are still slightly visible. There are also a few small dimples and hammer marks that may be the result of use and slight dents over the last 257 years Beautiful piece. Due to its age, I decided not to polish this item. I have wiped with a damp cloth and hand dried with a cotton towel.
