Mother & daughter. Tinted. 1/6th. Shew case.

Description

Here's a 1/6th plate daguerreotyoe of a seated mother holding her standing daughter. The childs dress was tinted all blue...but it has faded some. The girl seems to be wondering what the "box" is in front of her  and both her eyes are focused to the way right, where I'd bet she is looking to Dad. What makes this nice is that it is in a Wm. Shew, Boston case with his ad in the back.. Shew cases aren't always in the best of shape, but this is very good. Not warped, original spine still on.... and it has a wonderful deep purple/blue sllk pad. Nice exaapmple of a Shew.
The dag is in okay shape. Some lowish contrast, some fading on tinting. It says on the re-sealed back, from 1992 (not by me) that it was lightly cleaned. There are some small spots visible....see pic. Some light swipes visible when you tilt to L of Mom head....and one very thin verticle scratch you can't see  unless you tilt..
