PANAMA LARGE SIZE "SERIES OF 1918A" FIFTY BALBOAS FANTASY ART BANKNOTE BY REED BANKNOTE CO., SARASOTA!

No collection of rare Panamanian banknotes is complete without this
spectacular, limited edition, full-color fantasy fifty balboas SPECIMEN note featuring two great ships and a red "A00000" serial number!
This neat-looking pretend piece, about the size of an older large-size U. S. bill (approximately 7 1/4" long x 3 1/4" high), is one of the latest creations from the Reed Banknote Co., Sarasota!
This is a piece of banknote art and not an actual banknote and purports to be from the fictitious "El Banco Americano de la Republica de Panama."  It is graphic artist R. J. Reed's creation of what a 50 balboa note of "series 1918A" could have looked like had one been prepared, and is
handsigned by the artist
.
This bill is
part of a set of these bills to be released
by Reed Banknote ranging in denominations from 1 to 1,000 balboas and printed
only in a quantity of about 200 pieces of each denomination
for the "series 1918A" issue.
Be one of the few lucky and astute collectors to obtain this lovely piece while it's available!
The note is printed on an ivory-colored security paper with embedded threads, including some that glow under UV.  It has a separate security feature -
a circular Reed Banknote repeating legend at right that glows red under UV.  Additionally, a facsimile signature of artist R. J. Reed is also visible as red under UV and he has also hand-signed each bill on the right as well.
This colorful bill has a gorgeous sailing ship on the left and a large four-funnel ocean liner circa the early 20th century on the right on the front.  The liner bears the name of graphic artist Reed's mother in her honor and this vignette is similar to the one on the small size "series of 1941" Panama 50 balboas note earlier designed by Reed.
On the back (similar back design on all notes of the series except for the 1000 balboa) is a seated lady
(different back than the series 1918 bills).  At top center is the motto "PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO" (for the benefit of the world - i. e. the Panama Canal).
Again, this is a piece of banknote art and not a genuine bill, despite it's realistic appearance.
This professionally printed fantasy looks real, is great for display, and won't cost you much (and you won't have to worry about it getting stolen!).  The back of the bill has the following words above the vignette in the top center of the note (see also above scans):
