This spectacular new polymer (plastic) fantasy art note is one of 18 new designs just released by the Reed Banknote Co., Sarasota!  This brand new Marie Byrd Land fantasy note is a collaboration of Reed Banknote in association with Applied Currency Concepts and Stebbins Security Printing.  R. J. Reed, Chief Designer of Reed Banknote, teamed with Thomas Stebbins, ACC/SSP Chief Designer, to produce these wonderful notes.
This awesome 8 penguino (pronounced pen-gwee-no) note was printed with a date of 28.6.14 (June 28, 2014) for "
Marie Byrd Land
- Western Antarctica."  These incredible and colorful notes are an
unofficial fantasy issue
created by The Reed Banknote Co., Sarasota and are some of the neatest fantasy notes designed for one of the final frontiers on Earth.
Each incredible bill has
a very cool "latent" hologram over the new "Royal Exchequer" seal at the lower left on the front, that allows the details of the seal (map of Antarctica, standing penguin, and denomination) to show through!
The holograms are each painstakingly attached by hand
.  Due to this slow process, these notes are limited in availability
and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis!
Other features of the bill include omeron rings, a silver foil penguin embedded into the polymer, a hand-signed signature of the Royal Exchequer of Marie Byrd Land, and hidden ultra-violet glowing text (glows red under a UV light).  The polymer is biaxially-oriented polypropylene, a favorite substrate used for many of the new polymer banknotes in use today.
This note is the refundable "REGULAR ISSUE" version (see web page listed on the note for refundability info).
There are also non-refundable "SPECIMEN" versions of each of these penguino bills, that are available but not included with this listing.
The 8 penguino bill is a new denomination to the series, replacing the discontinued 4 penguino.
This note features swimming penguins underwater on the front and an innovative view of penguins in a cave looking out from their point of view, with the royal yacht

) in the distance

Marie Byrd Land is not a sovereign nation.  It is the largest unclaimed area remaining on Earth.  Famed Antarctic explorer Admiral Richard E. Byrd named Marie Byrd Land after his wife in 1929 during his first mission to the Antarctican continent.  It consists of over 1,600,000 square kilometers of very remote territory on the west side of Antarctica.  Marie Byrd Land lies east of the Ross Ice Shelf/Ross Sea and south of the Pacific Ocean.
This cool note will be great for penguin lovers or for display in your shop, coin show, ebay, or flea market booth, den, or use as eye-catching props in your next production!
