This milk box is very rare & likely one of the best to still exist of this brand. Only one other similar box has ever been offered on eBay & it was in far worse condition.  Davis Dairy Farms operated in Anderson Indiana from the 1930's to the1970's at least from what we could find in our limited research (finding news sources and other mentioning it).  They served Anderson Indiana and most of the immediate surrounding areas and may have been bought out by Prairie Farms as many of the the Midwest dairies (and others in Anderson) were over the years, but that is a guess.
We think this box is likely from the 1940's based on the 4 digit phone number.  It is very difficult to find boxes from the era this nice.  There is some general wear to box as you can see in pictures and some staining to lid with age, but overall an exceptional piece.  We only dusted the exterior of box and otherwise left it as we obtained it from the collector's estate.  The owner was from Anderson himself and had a large collection of Anderson advertising pieces, dairy items, calendars etc.  The bottles shown in gallery are available elsewhere in our eBay store as is another metal "Best-Ever" Dairy Products bracket sign (but none are included in this sale as noted above).  Kind of a good grouping if you are of the mind to fill or start a collection.
