Beautiful Porter Blanchard Art-Deco Sterling Coffee / Tea Set in Great Condition
Background:
This Porter Blanchard Sterling set was purchased in 1985 from an Art Gallery in West Palm Beach, Florida. The owner of this gallery, an Art Deco expert, represented that this set may have been used in the first class cabins aboard the SS Normandie. I have no documentation to confirm this, however the dates line up and the Normandie was known to be filled with art-deco luxuries.
The set consists of 3 items:
1 - Pot with cover, weighing approximately 24 ounces with wooden handle. The Pot measures approximately 5.5" in height, 9" in length including handle and 5" in diameter.
2 - Cup, weighing approximately 7 ounces, measuring 2.25" in height, and 3" in diameter.
3 - Creamer, weighing approximately 5 ounces, measuring 2.25" in height, and 6" in length including the handle.
The Pot and Cup are monogrammed with the letters "DE". All the items are stamped "Sterling" and "Porter Blanchard" with the logo in between them.
The set is in great condition considering its age. It was lightly cleaned for the listing, however it could use a good cleaning to make it all bright shiny.
