This fantastic large milk jug is made entirely by hand. It comes from an early production of the
renowned silver manufactory Bremer Werkstätten for handicraft silver work (BWKS).
The BWKS factory was created by the chaser
Wilhelm Schulze
founded around 1920
. The Schulze has
who completed his apprenticeship at Koch & Bergfeld and then worked for several years in Denmark for David Andersen. His first works are strongly influenced by Danish influences, which you can see wonderfully in this milk jug! By
Gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris around 1937
drawn, the company is in a row with other renowned German silver manufacturers, such as Bruckmann, Koch & Bergfeld, etc. Previous Scandinavian-style productions are rare rarities these days.
The jug comes from approx. 1925-1935.
The milk jug is completely decorated with hammer finish, which is made entirely by hand. Bulbous shape with a high handle with subtle rib decoration and figurative openwork feet are reminiscent of the Danish designs from that time.
