Rare Georg Jensen Johan Rohde Sauce Boat 304

Description

A rare and early Georg Jensen sauce boat, design #304 by Johan Rohde in 1919. Modern for its design year this elegant slightly hammered sauce boat has signs of early art deco design. Designed the same year of Rhodes famous #432 pitcher which was first introduced in 1925 because Georg Jensen found the design to be too modern. With a 1920 date stamp this would have been one of the very first to be produced. Design 304 is normally seen with a silver handle, this handle is silver and wrapped with the original rattan.

Hallmarks: Georg Jensen year stamp 1920, GI 830s and import marks to Sweden
