Stunning Vintage Large Chinese Porcelain Hand Painted Monteith Planter Foot Bath
This stunning Chinese porcelain Monteith was produced during the 20th century for export to Europe.
Monteiths, filled with cool water or ice, were used for chilling wine bottles and cooling or rinsing wine glasses; the latter were inverted and hung from the notched rim.  This large heavily gold gilt bowl is 13" in length from handle to handle and is 6 1/4" tall and is decorated with hand applied beading in relief.  There are no chips, breaks or repairs with minimal paint loss.  Please enlarge the photos.
