    Description

Switzerland Solid Silver Single Serve Coffee Tea pot Marked Geneva c1760
Presented is a solid silver single serve Coffee pot with Hallmarks (a deamidated crowned eagle, key and IC initials of guild warden) for silver made in Geneva Switzerland c1760 with a maker’s mark of PLN beneath crown. I have posted a picture on this mark in the photos above. A friendly Ebayer has been kind enough to offer his considerable expertise on these marks of the following for me: "
Jean Jacques GIROD was born in 1700 master 1723 and "warden" 1732-4 and in 1760-62. For a number of reasons I think it is from the latter period."
This beautiful coffee or teapot has a wood handle on the side, three horse hoof feet, a hinge pin finial, a great duck bill lidded spout as well as an excellent discreet monogram lost amid the marks on the bottom of P.L  another possible of E or F as well as an elegant mixed script letter monogram on the side of what I believe to be FS.  It is in decent condition with only some minor dents and dings and some fine scratches from gentle use and care and a minor cracking of handle where it connects to pot, the handle could use a tightening. It sits uneven meaning the feet must need realignment. It is a great Antique with an elegant seemingly simplistic design until studied closely where one may examine the fine the art and artistry of the silver master three centuries previous. This is an excellent find for the collector of silver and makes a great piece for display or use.
