Unusual Victorian Solid Sterling Silver and Glass Teapot.Description
A very unusual Victorian silver mounted glass teapot.
The handmade glass body with solid silver mounts.
With a capacity of 180 ml it may not have been intended for tea.
Matching hallmarks to rim, lid and spout cover.
Hallmarks are for Birmingham, 1893, maker's mark unclear.
Condition
In antique condition with some wear.
General surface wear throughout including minor ding and scratches.
Some flea-bites to the tip of the spout (see pic. 8).
A piece of silver added where handle meets rim
(see pic. 9).
Hallmarks clear and legible other than maker's marks.
