VINTAGE / ANTIQUE CRAFTSMAN TOOL BOX 6520 "RESTORED w CARE" 19 3/4x8 1/4x7 L@@K

Description

This is a Vintage / Antique Craftsman tool box from the 1930-1940s. It is an early version of the 6520 model. It measures 19 3/4 x 8 1/4 x 7
inches. When I found this the whole box inside and out was painted black including the logo / nameplate. I sanded the whole box, removed
the name plate and repainted the name plate back to original colors. The box has been repainted back to the original gray with
RUSTO-LEUM HAMMERED finished to keep it looking original. Before painting I removed any major dents and repaired any twists in the
metal. The reason I am calling this Vintage / Antique is look close at the way the box was made. The box ends do not overlap the top or
the bottom of the box by 1/2 inch on the outside like the newer versions. The ends are inside the top and bottom of the box. Also, the
latches and handle mounts are spot welded to the box not riveted like newer versions. The bottom edges of the box are rounded not square. I had to hand paint the latches, handle mounts, and
handle in place. I also added felt glides to the bottom of the tray to stop it from being scratched and rubber mounts to the bottom of the box
to stop it from being scratched. This logo is from the late 1930s to early 1940s. Now this box is ready for another 70 years of work.
