Vintage Chinese Faux Carved Cinnabar Wax Seal Stamp
Gourd & Lion Box
This listing offers a decorative Chinese wax seal stamp box in the shape of a gourd (or eggplant?) with a Lion and vegetation on top. It was manufactured in Taiwan and is made of a cast synthetic celadon material that certainly has the appearance of an original hand carved item. Inside is the stamp with simulated celadon caved top of a coiled snake. The wax is contained in a circular indentation.
Box dimensions are 5" length x 2-3/8" width x 2-3/4" height. Weight of the complete container is 14-1/2 ounces. Condition is very good except the coiled cobra is missing its head as pictured.
