    Description

    Vintage Chinese Wedding Box, Red and Gold Lacquered, Papier Mache Construction.
    All exterior surfaces and inside of cover are decorated in gold on red. 13 7/8" x 8 1/8" x 2 3/8" high. Received as gift in 1984 from relatives who purchased it in person on a visit to China not long after China opened up to US travelers. Age is unknown. It is a handsome, sturdy box, though it does have the following flaws: crack in lacquer exposing inner construction on right rear corner (shown in photo), crack in lacquer (visible on top and at back, shown in photo) exposing inner construction on left rear hinge, and a loose hinge. Sold as is. Selling because we have too many items in our very small house. Shipped USPS Priority Mail. USA domestic shipping only.
