    Description

This Cream Top milk bottle is a clear 9 1/2" tall, quart-size example. Unfortunately, there is a bulls-eye crack in the bottle. It still displays well, until you can find a replacement. It is embossed "Fairview Dairy, Phillipsburg, N.J." A must-have example for any eclectic bottle collection. The spoon is of average wear. The starting price is low so that a new collector can get a great bottle at a reasonable price. Please let the pictures serve as part of the description.
    A little back story:
    The
    Cream Top
separator, a humble metal ladle, was designed for the purpose of separating
    cream
    from
    milk
    in a particular type of
    milk bottle
    . Before homogenized
    milk
became widespread in the late 1940s,
    milk bottles
    typically featured a
    top
    layer of
    cream
-- the fat that naturally rises to the
    milk's
    surface.
