Condition: The box itself is in good to very good condition. Two Plastic 'teeth' closure tabs-hangers- and eyes which hold the box securely closed are in excellent condition. The box is not cracked, torn in structure, however the CLOTH covering as two light stains on top of box -- and corners (cloth) show some wear and stretch or rub on corners. Bottom is covered in traditional thin gift wrap and it has a few tears and rubs. INside, find bright orange padded underside of Lid. Also inside the box are cut out places where saki or other cups were stored in shipping or display.

Description

Be sure and read conditions. This box is 11 inches in length, 6.5 inches wide and 3.1 inches high. It was possible a shipping box for porcelain cups (due to cut out placements inside). Bright orange asian silk perhaps (shiny material) inside. Underside lid is padded. An orginal white cotton ribbon that held the lid in an upright position for display, is detached from the lid, so the lid lies flat when opened. TWO teeth, on on each side of the lid, on hangers, drop down from the lid and fit into 'eyes' on the front side of box. The Cloth is green and textured, somewhat worn, but Otherwise, Yet another great example of elegant Chinese (or Asian in general) shipping, storage boxes. This one has two tabs inside marked YIXING CHINA. See images.
